Near the end of eighth grade each student was asked the same question: what do you want to be when you grow up? At the time I knew close to nothing about the countless majors and degrees I could attain in college. As an eighth grader all I knew is that I wanted to make a difference. Making a difference can be simple or as difficult as trying to develop a new global theory. I may not be the next Albert Einstein or Charles Darwin, but I believe I can make a difference. Having the opportunity to make a difference is one of the reasons I am excited to attend college. College is a place where you can get involved in a variety of activities and also be involved in academic studies. My academic studies are incredibly important to me because I want to broaden my knowledge of the world. In order to expand my global knowledge I believe it is time for me to leave high school. …show more content…
I’ve met my best friends and have had the opportunity to shine academically. Each class I have taken has taught me not only the class curriculum, but also how to be a better student. In high school I have also learned more about myself. However, I believe that I have still so much to learn about myself. College is a huge factor that helps you figure out who you are and what you want to do with your life. College can be rewarding, but the rewards are not just handed out.
