The Health Care Summer Institute program would be the best opportunity for me to truly figure out what it is I want to do when I get to college. If I were to be chosen to partake in this program, I would be able to see and experience the many different career choices available in the program. Since I was little, I have known that I wanted to be in the medical field; however, as I got older my career options refined from the medical field to either a pediatrician or a pharmacist. For the past couple of years, I have been troubled with not knowing whether or not I would enjoy being a pediatrician or pharmacist. This program would enable me to look beyond those two choices and discover my true career path in the healthcare field. Previously, I have volunteered at many …show more content…
Furthermore, I have volunteered Mayo Clinic and assisted the social workers in a hospital environment. Lastly, I am a part of my National Honor Society and Environmental club, which enables me to participate in many community service events that help my community and the individuals residing in it. For as long as I can remember my thoughts on college have not changed, I believe that college is a wonderful place that will jumpstart the rest of my life and career. I have always been told that college is the goal to strive for and that as soon as I get there the pieces would start to fall together. Attending college would be a great achievement that I would love to accomplish. As stated before, my current career goals are to be either a Pharmacist or Pediatrician; however, I am open to exploring other options in order to find my true passion. If I were to be selected for this program, my expectation would be to have my career options broadened and to find one of the careers that we discover or shadow to be exciting and something I could envision myself
