The song explains that you don’t need to try as hard as society (or other people) are telling you to. Lots of times, the goal with makeup and fashion is to create a perfect image of beauty. The models in magazines or actors in movies look a certain way and sometimes the pictures are even changed with computers to create unreal pictures. The perfect example of beauty given to women/girls is unrealistic and difficult to reach. There are many girls as young as junior high age who are convinced that their value is in their looks. This is a sad thing because they are getting their self worth from a superficial thing like beauty. This song is important for this generation because the world tells girls that there's a perfect standard for external beauty and that everyone should try to attain it. Girls feel pressure to look a certain way and that can lead to mental problems and/or physical issues. Girls should be more focused on their inner beauty instead of what they look like on the
