When I think about an event that changed my writing, I think less about one specific event and more about past writings and teachers. During high school I took quite a few writing classes with a variety of teachers. Those teachers often influenced my writing, but only for a short while. The exception to that would have been my 10th grade composition teacher and my mythology teacher. These two teachers had an incredible influence on my writing and how I write today. My composition teacher taught me the importance of researching what your writing and patience when writing, while my mythology teacher taught me how to be passionate with my writing so I could convince my readers what I was saying was what I really believed in.

Henell. The last writing assignment in my mythology class was to take one the many stories we had studied and explain in detail which one was the most significant to you and why. In the beginning I thought the assignment was going to be easy; I loved mythology, but a soon as I started to think, I became lost is the numerous stories we had learned about. The myth I went with was the Hindu story of how the universe was always being destroyed and recreated. The story was the only one which had stuck out to me throughout the entire semester. It was the one which was most believable for me. While writing this paper, I was having a difficult time coming up with what to write about. After explaining my frustrations to Mr. Henell, he told me the only thing that mattered was why I found it so interesting. He told me it didn’t have to explain the significance to the class or to our lives, but to my life. Armed with his words, I wrote one my most passionate papers to this day. The story was something in which I truly cared about and my enthusiasm for the details and the connections to myself made the paper

Have you ever stopped caring so much that whatever happens, happens? I remember the time I had gotten in trouble by my mom because I had walked home from school. I didn’t like it, but then again I started not to care either.…

My writing experience: I didn’t start to read until I was in first grade. Every week we would go to library to check-out two books and take a test on the books we read on a computer. Every day in English we read a short story to ourselves then we would play games dealing with the story to make it fun. To be honest I never really did a lot of writing in Elementary , Middle, or High school so I can’t pinpoint when I started writing. In essay writing I learned its always good to express yourself with your own opinion.…

fuller class, I poured my heart into writing the essay because I actually read the book, and understood what the book was all about.. Out of all the essays I written in high school for both my English class and English as second language class, the essay about the book “things fall apart” was one of the essays I have had the highest grade on. Reading the book made me fall in love with reading novels, especially novels that had to with the traditions and culture of other countries, or the social issues of other countries. I also remember when Mrs. Fuller would say she is assigning on us all this paper to prepare us for the subject area testing program (SATP) exam. This test covered some subjects but Mrs. Fuller was more concerned about the English part of this exam.…
