With attending college I will be able to educate myself in the career field that I want to go in to. Witch will benefit myself but also my community. I want to go into…
College: Why many Should Reconsider College has been shoved onto almost every child since a young age, and most seem to believe the education it provides is a requirement to make it further in life. What many people don’t pay much attention to are the heavy drawbacks and risks of attending college and the benefits of other options. While college isn’t necessarily a bad option, time and time again we see it seriously stunting the beginning of one’s adult life, and in serious cases even following people into their mid-life. Not having the money, dedication, or long term plan to push their way through comes back to bite too many graduates and can leave them unsure why the college education that’s been sitting on a pedestal for their entire life…
I believe that University of Alabama’s Early College program will help me achieve my college goals because it will give me a taste of what is to come and preparation for the future. Over the years, I've become very interested in the medical field and I would like to become a pediatric surgeon. As you may already know, pursuing this career requires almost a decade of education in and out of the classroom. This is an excellent way to take as many college classes in high school as I can so I can enjoy college and have an easier experience once enrolled as a full-time student. If I was to be accepted into this prestigious program I would work to the best of my abilities to be successful.…
For someone deciding wether or not to go college, all the different sides shown can make it a difficult decision. Maybe you feel like college will heighten your chance of being successful in the future, or maybe you feel like college just isn't for you. Personally, I chose to attend college so that I would have better chances in the field I would like to work with in the future. Despite the costs and the challenges of college, i believe if I work hard it will be worth it and I will benefit in the end.…
College is getting really expensive these days and many people spend half their lifetime in debt. Because of this, people are questioning whether college is worth it. I believe the investment of college is worth it, to my future. I am striving to become either a professional photographer for a magazine company or a computer animator for Disney. I haven't decided yet, however I do need college to reach my dreams.…
Is college really worth the debt, the hard work and the headaches you’ll receive? With jobs getting harder to get into and standards being raised, attending college can be a big advantage when applying for a job or starting a business. With all studies and statistics taken, it can be proven that college can be a big step in someone’s life. Numbers and percentages can speak for themselves there is a great difference between those who have attended college and those who haven’t. Workers with a bachelor degree made 40 percent more than those who just have a diploma from high school but that percentage has increased to 80 percent jobs and businesses nowadays are looking for people who have the motivation to work hard and passion.…
Skipping out on college is not an option for me; it’s completely out of the picture. Having said that and looked through charts to see the differences of life with and without college, it solidified my decision in going. I have personally seen two of my siblings drop out of college and watched their life unfold. It’s not a bad life, but it’s also not one I would choose to live. I’ve seen both struggle with money and that is an issue I do not wish to have in my future.…
If you choose to go to college, you are signing away years of your life and chunks of your bank account to being dedicated to education. If you choose not to go to college, you are risking a lifetime of struggle and potentially being stuck at a dead end job. This brings us to the ongoing debate that every person at one point has with themselves.…
College is something that was always been part of my education it never occurred to me that I wouldn’t attend college, not only because nearly everyone in my family has attended but because college is the first step into building a future career but even if I decide to not continue as a physical therapist in the future at least I will have a much more intensive education than what I would've had if I had just attended high school, the education that I’m having in college is already better the way my professors have been teaching the classes and how they expect us to do the work by ourselves and not have that person carrying us the entire way has already had a great impact on me. What truly motivated me to enroll was the fact that I will be…
The decision to go to college should be based on your future goals; unfortunately this decision is sometimes forced upon us by our parents/guardians. For me I made my decision to go to college and work towards a MS in psychology and a CADC certificate. Upon receiving these credentials I would like to become a counselor for family’s who have a member with an addiction problem. The inspiration for my goal is due to my older brother who suffers with addiction to heroin. Growing up loving an addict is an entire different world.…
Throughout my life, I have always been told that I must go to college no matter what. At first, I did not really think about it that much, but now that I am a college student, I really had to get my stuff in order and take action while I attended to college. And that is exactly what I did. During the fall semester of 2016, at Pasadena City College, I was able to become a part of the Pathways program, join the Lancers for Life program, and was even able to secure a job position within Ralph’s. However, what I felt most accomplished about would be of all the classes that I have taken.…
My Motivation: What motivates me the most to pursue a college degree is that I will be the first person in my family to receive one. My grandmother is the backbone behind this motivation because she was always making sure that academics came first in my life. There was rarely a day that I would come home and she would not ask me questions about my homework, asking what I learned in school, or even looked over my homework. As I got older, she made sure I was a part of a college prep program called AVID from 6th-12th grade and that definitely made a difference for me. It helped me understand the importance of continuing your education and how beneficial it can be to succeeding in life.…
I talked to one of the people giving a talk, and he said, ”School is very important. You should go to college because it will help you succeed in life and make your life better.” At that time I thought I never wanted to go to college because I thought it would be pointless, but I understand now that he was right. As I grew older, I gradually realized that college can help me in so many ways. I would love to experience college and learn new things and be in a new environment.…
I came to college both to further my education and my career goals. While furthering my education I will be gaining knowledge that is pertinent to my interests and my future career. In today’s society it is hard to get ahead with out any further education beyond high school, almost every field requires a degree now days. With out a degree a person would not have the needed skills or experience for most chosen careers. In order to be a competitive candidate in todays job market one needs marketable skills, which include a higher education.…
Recent high school graduates strive for this quest, but others are a bit skeptical when it comes to money and college, putting the graduate in a tough decision making circumstance. Nevertheless, high school graduates should not hesitate when deciding on whether or not to go to college, because college is a great learning experience and everyone should pursue it. College gives you the opportunity to learn great things and interact with people outside of your circle. Upon graduation the graduate might not find his or her dream job right away, but with time the college degree will definitely pay off and the graduate won’t regret the good times that he or she had and the fulfilling experiences that were…
