I Never Saw Another Bird Again Analysis

Some of the factors that had contributed to World War I were: a). militarism, b). alliances, c). imperialism/nationalism. The militarism was because Germany, Italy, and France began creating a massive military force in the European continent. So this could be considered A and B because militarism and alliances were building up together. The imperialism/nationalism was due to the fact that the Russian empire wanted to expand it's territory to the Caspian Sea to expand its trade routes. Meanwhile, in North America, especially in California, Arizona, and the Great Plains, when the stock market crashed, all of North America fell into a Great Depression. Not to mention when the dust bowl descended onto several farmlands and decimated growing seasons. So North America would be challenged when Europe exploded into World War I, because we were truly unprepared. This was soon turned into a story by two authors by the name of Celeste Raspanti and Hana Volavkova. The speakers are the children who wrote these poems and the audience is those who listen to it. The message is the fact that these children who were held in a concentration camp to show that they never saw color or beauty ever again. The mood of this poem is sadness and darkness. The second poem is, "Memories and Peace," a toung Rwandan poet but the name of Annick Gikundro who wrote this poem in memory of those who were killed in the 1994 genocide in Rwanda.
