I M Reading: The Graveyard Book By Neil Gaiman

Decent Essays
The book i’m reading is The Graveyard Book. The author of my book is Neil Gaiman. This Book is very interesting in my opinion.
What I can do well is connect other things to stuff that I have read. I also take a while to think about the conflict of a story, to understand the book more than i originally all ready do. I also get to know my characters once i read enough of the book. I think i struggle with understanding the plot at sometimes. I have to think about it for a while to understand the plot. My goal for the rest of October and the month of November is to finish at least 5-6 books, Including the one i’m reading right now. My goal for the rest of the marking period is to read a lot more than i do right now. I want to be able to finish

This term I started out with what I thought was a pretty easy reading goal. My goal was to read at least two hours every week, not counting the time we read at the beginning of English. I read many articles, mostly things from Buzzfeed, and The Onion. I also started rereading Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets when I was in school, outside of school I just finished reading A Separate Peace by John Knowles. Overall I don’t think I met my goal, because some weeks I wouldn’t read at all and other weeks I had read for probably fifteen hours or more, and I never had a very consistent reading schedule.…

By adding up the amount of pages that I read and dividing it by eighteen my answer is 75 pages per week. I saw an improvement in my reading because the number of pages I read in a week had increased. I am quite satisfied and this motivates me to read more. I want to tighten up my gear and raise it to at least 100 pages per week in order to achieve my wish. Usually I would have read books that are around 100 to 200 pages, but this time it is longer than usual.…

    Kite Runner Strength

A prominent strength I took note of as I was reading is that I take time to understand the story, rather than quickly rushing through the novel. As I was reading The Kite Runner, there were many circumstances where I would re-read pages or take a moment to stop and think about if what I was reading could be of importance later on in the story, if I thought it was I wrote it down. I would rather take a longer time to read my novel so I can remember the details of the book and make sure I understand the plot as well. This also benefited me later on when analyzing the novel because I was able to remember details within the story that I may not have noticed if I did not stop to understand them. Another strength I noticed whilst reading is the fact that I recorded quotes and events that stood out to me throughout the novel.…

My third quarter reading goal was to read 2 poetic novels. I met my goal by trying my best to read at least 50 pages each week. The two books I read were Out of the Dust by Karen Hesse and I Promised I Would Tell by Sonia Schreiber Weitz. While completing this reading goal I had to change the amount of time I spend reading each week. I on average read around an hour per week, but this reading goal help me have more of a reason to read then just reading for fun.…
