I Love To Sing Application Essay

Decent Essays
I have always loved to sing, but I do not remember when I first discovered my ability.
Maybe it when was when I first saw The Phantom of the Opera as a child, maybe it was when I was in my booster seat listening to the Annie cassette tape, or maybe it was when my grandfather and I were watching The Wizard of Oz on TCM. I do not know, but what I do know is that this talent has left a lasting impression on my life and most importantly, my heart. From what I recall, the first time I sang in public was in my Catholic school’s Advent program for all of the parents. Now that I am older, I realised how amazing it was to sing all those beautiful songs with 300 voices in a choir. Luckily, I have been blessed to have many opportunities like this with the Rancho Cucamonga High School Chamber Singers.

I have developed my vocal and performance technique immensely and I also have become fascinated with all of the details in music theory. These intricacies are what completely immerse me into the music and what drive my intense focus of study on the craft. This is the major change I experienced from when I first began to now. Singing is about telling the stories that cannot be told by no other means than music. Singing is about growing with the music and the music becoming your life. Music is life. And when music is your life, you begin to treat life as if it were music. I live my life with intelligence, dedication, and

My music department also offered me other musical opportunities such as festivals. I have attended several festivals such as the Lakes Region music festival and the All New England music festival. These festivals allowed me to come together with other students from different schools that loved singing and performing as much as I did. Every time I perform at one of these festivals I am overwhelmed by how beautiful music can be when everyone I am working with is just as passionate as I am about the work we are doing and also extremely talented.…

The heat from the stage lights, the watchful gazes of the audience, and the sweat dripping off of our faces as we struggle to remember our lines, these sensations of being on stage are what caused the performing arts to become not only an activity, but also a passion and an unexpected source of personal growth. Through my experiences in drama and music I have been able to discover my own meaning of fulfillment and define who the person behind my appearance truly is. My passion in the performing arts started when I was a young child first learning to play the violin. Picking up the violin at the age of 6, I became stuck on one of the most basic songs for almost a whole year. At that time no one believed that I could play the violin, my teacher thought that I was too hyperactive and even my mom attempted to convince me to quit.…

How to Sing in Tune Many individuals experience issues to sing in tune, while others can begin off alright however then can't hold a tune or bit by bit begin hitting incorrectly notes or meandering out of key. That is presumably the most concerning issue with figuring out how to sing in tune: that we begin with the wrong thought, that singing is a natural ability you should be conceived with. 1.…
