Compare And Contrast Belltower theater and Dubuque senior theater are very different but are also similar in some ways. They are similar in the sense that many people attend both theaters, both put on similar shows, and they both provide crew opportunities. They are also different in these ways. Stage size, the directors and how they direct, and the schools that are involved.…
The Ghost of the Princess Theatre Do you believe in ghosts? If you do or not you might after this. In December 18, 1886 the theatre reopened with some remodels , but Frederick Baker stayed.…
There are a few revivals currently running on Broadway. They include Fiddler on the Roof, The King and I, and Les Miserables. This does not compare to the slew of new musicals that have opened up on Broadway. The types of shows featured on Broadway have an adventurous theme. Many of the protagonist have to go on a journey whether it's for love or self-discovery.…

Political Theatre Theatre isn’t just a form of art, but can also be used to communicate. It could represent the possibilities and help people see what’s really going on in the world. For over a hundred years, political theatre has been able to engage effectively in regional, national, and global communities. The stage has always existed as a place where political problems can be analyzed. The most satisfying part of theater is when it makes you think and has people expressing their thoughts about the performance for days or years later.…
Theatre: a live dramatic performance meant to evoke a certain emotion. When you think theatre you probably think Broadway or the better versed of you might think of Hamilton, which, for those of you who don’t know, is a very popular rap musical currently on Broadway about America’s founding fathers, specifically Alexander Hamilton. Theatre was not always this way though. Theatre began thousands of years ago with cavemen reenacting their kills for their community members. But how exactly did this change to the theatre we know in America today?…
Growing up as a child, I always dreamed of becoming an actor. In high school, I started my journey by taking drama classes. Not long after, I become passionate about drama and eventually joined Players, a fast-paced drama program which involves daily rehearsals and performances. This activity boosted my self-confidence and provided me with a basis for future endeavours in drama. Working closely with the cast members as a team, I learned that creativity and commitment result in a successful drama play.…
Dr. Williams, Thank-you for the support you have given the Theatre Arts program over the past 3 years. As we continue to grow, I believe the schedule outlined below will permit more students to participate in the productions, particularly those involved in other related arts classes and athletics. While it won’t cut out on after school rehearsals completely, my plan is to reserve either after school and/or before school rehearsals for select solo, small group or choreography work Additionally scheduling the big school musical between winter and spring sports seasons, or after the spring season concludes, will provide the opportunity to have the necessary 2 hour tech and dress rehearsals. I spoke with Coach Werts who said there is about a 3 week period of time between winter and spring sports where there are no athletic practices.…
No matter how many times I get told that, I still don’t believe it. I feel that there is so much more growth in my acting capabilities. My junior year in theatre has been the most memorable thus far. We advanced all the way to Regionals for UIL One Act Play; where we were two schools behind making State. That moment was upsetting; however, I realized that there was so much more I could have done to be better.…
As long as I can remember my family has been involved in some kind of arts. As a child, I spent several years attending an acting and theater academy, were we would practice performing a wide variety of plays, several times a week, we would then perform them at local venues after countless hours of rehearsal. As I continued to get older I moved away from acting and more towards dance, I took lessons for three to four years of tap, jazz, and ballet. I loved performing and soon became very good, specifically at tap and ballet, at one performances my teacher wanted to incorporate a song into one of the routines, I was chosen to sing and dance. It was the first time that I had ever sung outside of church and the shower, I was very nervous but…
When working with my future students I want to instill a love for reading that was never instilled in me. I want to teach my students that reading is important to their everyday lives, but that reading can also be fun. One way that I plan to show them that is through reader’s theater. Reader’s theater is exactly what it sounds like; it is acting out scripts based on books, so the students have an actual visual of what they are imaging as they read. Reader’s theater has been around for a long time, but has recently been implemented in primary and elementary school settings.…
Since coming to FMU as a transfer student, I have been auditioning for all of the theatrical performances available to me. Even when not cast in a role, I have made an effort to be involved in the other aspects of the performance. Unfortunately, I still do not have much experience beyond this, other than a few roles in plays at Florence-Darlington Tech and drama club participation in high school and at Florence-Darlington Tech. My passion is acting, but I have yet to experience enough to be able to differentiate myself from others to directors.…
This being so, I'm attending William Peace University in order to receive a B.F.A in Musical Theatre. This journey will resemble a roller coaster, having many ups and downs, but hopefully this roller coaster will lead me to a professional acting career. My dreams may seem unrealistic, but with enough hard work, they will be as realistic as any other career…
