Dr. Williams, Thank-you for the support you have given the Theatre Arts program over the past 3 years. As we continue to grow, I believe the schedule outlined below will permit more students to participate in the productions, particularly those involved in other related arts classes and athletics. While it won’t cut out on after school rehearsals completely, my plan is to reserve either after school and/or before school rehearsals for select solo, small group or choreography work Additionally scheduling the big school musical between winter and spring sports seasons, or after the spring season concludes, will provide the opportunity to have the necessary 2 hour tech and dress rehearsals. I spoke with Coach Werts who said there is about a 3 week period of time between winter and spring sports where there are no athletic practices.…

When working with my future students I want to instill a love for reading that was never instilled in me. I want to teach my students that reading is important to their everyday lives, but that reading can also be fun. One way that I plan to show them that is through reader’s theater. Reader’s theater is exactly what it sounds like; it is acting out scripts based on books, so the students have an actual visual of what they are imaging as they read. Reader’s theater has been around for a long time, but has recently been implemented in primary and elementary school settings.…
