However, I soon realized that I have a strong passion towards playing. I am always looking for new music to play and I binge on YouTube pianist channels in my free time. I continued to teach myself new techniques through watching these personalities and I thought to myself, “Why not share the love?” What better way to share my love of piano than to teach other eager students who want to learn piano as well? The end of being a music student has inspired me to create a club, an environment where I can teach students my age who want to play piano but never had the chance to. The club helped me remember what learning piano was like as a child: infuriating and slightly rewarding. My students would always start out eager to learn, but they soon realize that learning piano is a very slow process that takes time. Nonetheless, I encourage them to keep trying, and they surprise themselves with their progress over a few months. In the beginning, I never liked playing piano. I did not have the discipline to sit down and practice for even a good half hour, but now I have to teach other students to be patient and let the practice sink in. I never thought that I would be teaching students how to play piano, one of my past dreaded activities. But now as I am older, I find that I appreciate piano a lot more because I recognized the beauty that these various artists wanted to convey.
