I Love Monologue

I began the day in a dream-like state, hypnagogic to be precise, as my melancholy was embellished with a familiar face at an unfamiliar place. I pace through a cemetery filled with heartbreak accompanied by sorrow. Doing the very thing I can't ever rid myself of, I wondered about each stone head we pass. Hau, Lien, Yen; I lost my trail of thoughts between his peace. The Nguyens have passed and now they hold my thoughts while I catch a glimpse of the flickering sunlight filtering through the leaves as the sun rises. I am up here again grandfather, and it's been a while since the previous time I loosely recall being this high and being this low. The clouds alter and shift between one another while the sun is rising somewhere in the east. Tears in the winter feel a lot like icicles plastered on your face, yet here I am, gathering my thoughts, collecting memories and falling into self-induced epiphanies. …show more content…
People are about the same. I am guilty of wondering too much; guilty of guilt that doesn't belong to me. Weight I've lost track to carry. I wanted to carry it all; all of the broken hearts I've ever come across, every half worn smiles, and every promise that was broken, that no one else cared to keep, because everyone else failed to. I am shifting, I am setting, and in my own desolation, worlds within my world crumbled into the walls of my heart. Somewhere along the lines, the words and stories we lost to time, a sudden realization came to mind. Out there on strange lands there's someone who gave their heart and soul to another, but it was too heavy so they let it

As I see the sun rises up, hear the birds’ chirps, and hear the chickens utters a loud, harsh noise. It’s a new day and another day in the farm in Oriental Mindoro. As I got up from bed, I thought of how I should spend my last day here with my family. I then decided to head downstairs and I could immediately overhear loud conversations and then I saw my brothers and sisters as they prepare the table and gather around the table. As I sat down at the corner of the table, we started recalling our childhood memories.…

July-Day 18 I can barely pull myself out of bed today, it's cold outside the blankets that have kept me safe since my descent to dreamland where I have been since 6:30 PM. I've slept for 12 hours and I want to keep sleeping. I want to stay in bed where nothing happens to any extremes. I dreamt of lighthouses and the light it casts out over the clear blue gulf sending a signal of safety to those passing by. I wonder about all the things that are like lighthouses to me.…

Seldom in my night dreams do I discern any real relation to my daily, waking life. So I am surprised that my final waking this morning came as a result of a poetry dream, of all things. There I was, walking along a sidewalk and I came upon that part of a front yard where the house stands close enough to the street that the front yard is narrow, in this case maybe just 15 feet from sidewalk to structure. Pine trees provided some shade with one in particular that offered a wide swath of shade extending on over to the front of the foremost room with its large bay picture window.…

I was over ecstatic when Fernando, (also known as Fernie) my best guy friend asked me to go on a walking adventure with him in our hometown of Kelseyville, California. We started off the day by walking in the forest alongside of Kelsey Creek. This forest has a really big meaning to Fernie and I, because we both love nature in every aspect and these walking adventures are not uncommon to us. Starting on the path we both got lost in our own thoughts, I got distracted by looking above me at the the canopy the tree branches created. My eyes followed the patterns the sunlight was creating as it broke through the leaves and cascaded onto the uneven forest floor.…

It’s been a day or two since we’ve left this room. I’m lost and enraptured by the fragility surrounding our isolation. I spend much of my time counting things. I count the slats on your window blinds, I count the clothes scattered on your bedroom floor, I count the scars on your body. I count every different language and color I could learn to love you in.…
