Decent Essays
A bolt of dread settled into his stomach. What if things turned for the worse? What if he never saw his father alive again? Panic gripped him like a vise, he couldn't concentrate. Thoughts of horror filled his mind.
"I'm sorry for the way I acted these last few days. I didn't mean any of it." The words spilled out and he couldn't stop the tears from running down his cheeks. He was leaving his father to die, he just knew it. He couldn't bear to lose him.
"I know you didn't. You're a fine boy. You've made me proud these last few weeks. I should have told you sooner, but I've never been good with sharing my feelings out loud. I couldn't have asked for a better son. Now go, please. And remember, Scamp will take care of you, if you let him have
