During my ongoing business conference to Colorado to learn about future career opportunities for my dual degrees in Communication design and Computer Science, I got to attend an orchestra concert presented by the Hapless Heroes who were conducted by Leslie Stewart. The show was musical theatre where they had a live orchestra playing in front of the stage while the actors explained the Greek tale of Orpheus and Eurydice. I attended this amazing show on the 4th of December. I love learning about Greek Mythology so I was already enthusiastic about attending this show. The orchestra performed very well and helped with accurately describing the emotions of the actors throughout the show. The emotions expressed by not only the music but by how the musicians looked while playing these pieces made me believe that this show meant a lot to them because they would sway to the music when they weren’t playing. It had my emotions spiral out of control because some of the music was happy then it turned sad in an instance, then it would go right back to something whimsical. It’s not the typical kind of music that I would listen to daily but I am happy that I got to attend this event and hear something that I wouldn’t normally. In conclusion, I thought the overall show was amazing and beautiful even though it was meant to be sad. My experience was rewarding because I got to hear a new form of music but I got to learn about a piece of Greek mythology that I didn’t know about. I would recommend this to anyone even though it appealed more to people who appreciate the history of the Greeks and classical music. It’s a nice change of music from the type that is created
