Dwight Eisenhower achieved many great things for our country. His accomplishments for us have proven to be “a journey, not a destination”. He undertook this duty knowing it would be tremendously demanding. He aspired for peace but said if the other countries were not willing to take peace seriously; he would forget the whole idea of peace and send in more troops. He pleaded numerous times for peace and did not give up when he was criticized and mocked by other countries. Peace was beneficial to the United States because over 50,000 American lives were lost fighting in Korea and we did not need to increase the list anymore. This was a valuable decision for America because all lives are precious, and if we did not assist in the ending of the Korean War, we may have been indirectly inserted into conflicts with opposing countries.
Lastly, Dwight David Eisenhower made many advantageous decisions for our country. His ongoing aspiration for peace was strategic and valuable to the overall prosperity of the United States. I consider Eisenhower one of the best presidents America has ever had because of his temperance in decision-making and for his incessant and interminable concern for all
