In this Intro to Diversity class I learned about the world around me and a lot about myself. I was able to see things in a different light and really think about my views on others. Some of the views that I had going in to the class were changed slightly and some were strengthened. With all I learned there are things that I want to work on and improve in myself. Before you can work on changing the world you have to start with yourself. This class was very beneficial to my life and will be beneficial in whatever career I pursue. During this class we explored who are and how we self identify. For me I self identified as a Christian, the oldest sibling, and a traveler. All of these things were how I viewed myself at the beginning of this semester. During this class these views of myself were developed even further. I still self indentify as these things and some of them have even been strengthened. I still self identify as a Christian and this semester it has even become more of a central part of who I am. I realize that while everything else in my life might change, that is the only constant. Being an oldest sibling I now realize that the pressure that I feel comes from myself. No one ever told me that I had to make perfect grades or be the perfect older sibling but I felt like that was what I was meant to do. This view of myself change and I realized that I do not have to put myself under so much pressure. Self-identifying as a traveler is one view that was strengthened…
