Over the course of this fall semester, I have gained a wealth of knowledge from the Professional Issues I course. Through the development of skills for application of various theories and concept, that relate to learning, teaching, communicating and motivating others. Which are important “tools” for my “toolbox” as a future Physical Therapist. Therefore, the purpose of this final paper is to address the following topics to demonstrate this knowledge. First, the application of the BORE model of motivation to Vision 2020 statement written by the American Physical Therapy Association. Followed by an interpretation of research regarding interprofessional education, the application of the cognitive domain of Bloom’s taxonomy to a clinical scenario.

Therefore, it has become very important for APTA and many insurance companies that PTs use evidence based practices when treating patients. When applying the BORE model to this element of Vision 2020, the rewards include: using proven treatments to improve patient’s condition and PT experience, saving patient and therapist time, along with increasing productivity of PT sessions. While a risk would be, not using a treatment that may have been beneficial for certain patients based on poor and/or minimal research. However, the odds of success with the use of evidence based practices, has increased with the further research and improved educational requirements of therapist that include research courses. Which ultimately leads to a decreased effort, for implementing evidence based
