I have chosen to target the behavioral excess of eating fast food. I have chosen this habit because I am getting married at the end of the summer and I need to lose weight in order to fit into my dress. I have gained about 50 pounds over the last four years of college due to my unhealthy eating habits. These unhealthy habits have been the result of my busy schedule and poor cooking skills. I do not think I knew how much of a problem this behavior was until I started recording how often it was occurring. This behavior needs to be changed in order to improve my health, save money, and lose unhealthy weight.

Aside from my own personal realizations this project has served to help me better understand the inner working behind punishment and reinforcement in behavior modification. I think I have gleaned a better understanding of why logical consequences in punishment is effective and what makes certain punishments ineffective. I think this project has also helped me to understand that the method with which you record and display your data very much effects the interpretation of your readers. For instance, my graph seems to show very little change in my habits but when the averages were collected the difference was much more clearly displayed. Overall I believe this project has helped make my understanding of behavior modification more concrete and made it more likely that I will use these principles in the future with my Speech Therapy clients. This understanding of behavior modification principles and the rational of selecting punishment and reinforcement will help me with future clients and ultimately make me a better Speech Language
