All throughout my education career I have taken the bus. My friends and I have spent a lot of time going from place to place joking and playing around. I have a good experience with public transportation. UC Davis is an excellent school and the town of Davis is amazing as well. It is a very quiet town and the people are very friendly. I am a first year student and Davis has been more than a accommodating with adjusting to college life. Since it is so small stores and other places are easy to get to. I can either walk to a shop or a restaurant I want to visit. While this is a nice place, there is a problem with it. I can navigate around town, but if I want to go some place farther away I have to take the bus. Buses are amazing for getting to …show more content…
I stated early in this essay that they make moving and getting to different locations easier. This does not mean that they are perfect. These systems have the same problems as Davis. The difference that I have noticed is that these are bigger cities so they can put more money into their transit system. San Francisco is a great example of a city with transit problems. I grew up in San Francisco and I know how the buses work. They would be late when getting to stops and it was very annoying to get to any place. Also they would skip stops due to not noticing where people were standing at the stop. This happened to me 5 times while I was in high school. This causes an inconvenience for …show more content…
The first being is that a person go travel farther. This would allow people to get things that they would normally not have access to without some sort of transportation. Secondly buses are a great alternative to taking a car. For example, all the people that take bus could drive but do not. This in turn helps lower the amount of gas emissions emitted into the atmosphere. This happens when the buses are on time and they do not skip stops.
