Martin Luther King Jr. gave this speech during the “March of Washington” on August 28th, 1963. In his speech he talked about the civil rights that black people deserve as well as white people. During the speech he stated the situation almost immediately. He talked about Lincoln setting the slaves free but we still had a long ways to go before there was true freedom. He said that this problem urgently needed to be fixed. The speech started strong but he worked his way up with power and passion. He stated inequalities and injustices such as police brutality on the African American society. Martin Luther King Jr also talked about his hopes and dreams for the future.
