I Grew Up In Two Places Research Paper

I grew up in two places. I grew up in Flint, Michigan. I also grew up in Burns Flat, Oklahoma. Flint, Michigan is a big city. There is not anything good about the city. It is a dangerous city. There are people getting murdered every day. There are not that many jobs and the place is in deep poverty. The city also has lead in their water. If the people that live in the city want to drink water they have to go to the nearest church and they can get free 32 packs of water or they can go buy some from the store. My dad had a job there at 7/11 which is a convenient store. He was not making that much money and the city was beginning to get more dangerous. He realized that and thought he needed a new job, so he looked. Somehow he found one in Elk City, Oklahoma a town about 15 minutes from the town we moved to which is Burns Flat. Burns Flat is a small town. There are not that many people who live there. It is a country town. It is very different from Flint. It took me a while to get used to because the people were different and I was shy. It is not as bad anymore I know plenty of people and life is going decently good here. I play basketball and the school is a great school. I am glad I moved to this town …show more content…
One thing is my family. I do not ever get to see them because they live so far away. I try to go down there every summer though to visit everybody. One thing about my family is we are protective over each other and we love each other with our full potential. Another thing about the city is that I miss the people. I have no idea why but, I connect better with the people there than I do here in Burns Flat. Another thing I miss is the sports. The sports here in Burns Flat can be competitive at times but the sports in Flint are always competitive. They live for their sports and I feel that if I was still living there I would be better than I am right now. I wish I could have stayed sometimes just for the things like
