Reflective Essay On My English Class

In my English class in the spring of 2015, I feel like I haven’t learned anything. I came into this class with a certain amount of information and have taken what I have learned and tried to expand on what I already know with the information that was given. This class has shown me that even though I feel like I haven’t learned much on the topic of English classes, I feel more confident with my ability to evaluate other students based on their writing skills and learned what to include with certain points and what to stray away from with certain topics. These have helped me learn what I need to include in essays to be a successful writer and what to include in future essays to become a better writer.

We learned to stay focused on one essay more than multiple assignments at one time, and to concentrate on how to perfect an essay without rushing back and forth throughout essays that have been completed or need to be completed. The fact that Mrs. Byerly is so lenient on deadlines, as far as not finishing before the spring semester is over and is willing to give us more time for the students who are busy working or with other classes and believe they need more time to finish due to whatever circumstance is wonderful. It shows that she does care whether the students finish their classes and are willing to help make sure they finish the class with a passing grade and are happy with how they ended. Mrs. Byerly was very helpful and made time for students before and after class, and stayed to help even was the class was optional for the night to answer any questions and help with assignments and explain the students grades, she made a point of what to point out and give us feedback, whether it be positive or negative. The meetings with students were also extremely helpful, even though I did not feel the need to participate unless it was a dire situation and I was completely lost on the scenario that was needed to complete the essay or assignment that was due at the
