Yes, it is true Christians are like everyone else, and the reason for that is like everyone else they are human. Christians are sinners like everybody; not perfect beings who have it all together. Wanting to get one’s own way or buying a lot of things they do not necessarily need or “not being able to live without their smartphone” (Let us just note that everyone can live without their cellphones; humans did it for countless generations before us) is not something you lose automatically once you become a Christians. That takes very much self-control one of the fruits of the Spirit. As Rick Warren mentions in his book, The Purpose Driven Life: What On Earth Am I Here for, “Fruit always matures and ripens slowly,” so even though a person is a …show more content…
First off, when you are hanging out with your friends you are joining them in fellowship and engaging in the community. A fellow Christian friend or Non-Christian friend, when Christians interacting either one these they are properly, is one way fulfilling a function of the Biblical Church, that is fellowship/communion, as we discussed in class. Besides, our friends, as Kevin De Young and Greg Gilbert explained in their book, What Is the Mission of the Church, are within our moral proximity (183). This means that because they are close to us, we, as their friend, have a moral obligation to get together in fellowship to disciple each other in the truth of God’s true Word and help both of us grow in our spiritual relationship with our Creator and Savior. If a Christian does not do this with those close to him, he is sinning and failing to fulfill part of the mission Jesus Christ commissioned us with. Thus it is a great thing for Christians to want to hang out with their friends, so that they have more opportunity to disciple them. Second, aiming for decent grades is a good goal for Christians to do. As Cornelius Plantinga Jr. wrote in

In The Power of Meaning: Crafting a Life that Matters, Emily Esfahani-Smith claims there is a crisis in meaning (DC)because people do not know their purpose in life. As Smith explains why there is a crisis, she mentions the four pillars of meaning which are belonging, purpose, storytelling, and transcendence. These four pillars contribute to how people find meaning in their lives, because people go through situations where they struggle to belong (belonging), find a stable, long term purpose (purpose), interpret the circumstances that happened to them (storytelling), and lose themselves in something bigger, whether a spiritual reality or the mystery of the tangible world itself (transcendence). (DC)Although belonging is an important aspect…

(ESV). Although only God and oneself can cultivate a true relationship, Christians are called to encourage one another in following God and have fellowship with each other. Humans have the decision to encourage others toward Christ or to push others away from Christ every day. C.S. Lewis makes it clear that human interaction, positive or negative, can make an impact on eternity. Because all people’s souls are at stake, Christians must work to eliminate ungodly exchanges with one another and instead increase pure and strengthening discussions with whoever they may encounter.…

“If there is only one insight you take away from this book, though, I hope it’s a newfound sense of entitlement to be yourself.” (Cain, 15) Quiet: The Power of Introverts in a World That Can’t Stop Talking by Susan Cain explains that not only do extroverts tend to be noticed more, but in some instances being introverted is frowned upon. Being an introvert myself, I felt an immediate connection to the book. Susan Cain used numerous examples of introverts and how they live in a world where they are constantly challenged by the belief that extroverts are ‘the ones who are right for the job’. The author, who is as well an introvert, showed her struggles and overcoming them while remaining an introvert and teaching other introverts how to find…

The goal of life review is to allow the older adult to review his or her journey through life with the purpose of analyzing, finding meaning, and hopefully accomplishing an overall sense of emotional and spiritual fulfillment that allows him or her to be in peace, thus, accept the inevitable end without fear (Hearn et al., 2011). Some of the benefits include reevaluation of previous experiences with the purpose of identifying and coping with unresolved issues, thus, forgiving self and others for wrong doings, letting go of anger and anxiety issues, alternatively, achieving a sense of meaning, belonging, acceptance, thus, consequently wisdom (Butler, n.d). Fulfilled Life Brought by Ukulele Ever since I heard that I was to learn an instrument, I started to search the right instrument for me right away. As a result, I wanted to choose an instrument that is portable and suitable for learning through online courses. Then I thought about ukulele, which not only perfectly meets my demands, but also sounds beautiful.…

As I reflect on my personal life I value life itself to the point I live each day not knowing what to expect the next day. Positivity is a major factor in all that I do to the point of trying to view all things in a positive way and leaving the negativity out the door. As a mother, partner, educator, and entrepreneur I strive to be mindful, spiritual, and conscious of all my actions. I value these things because this is what makes up my life and what I live for each day. My life is a fourth generation person and I relate because I “want to live, love, learn, and leave it like a seed with balance and joy" (Covey, 73) the quality of my life is more important than planning it out.…

It’s tough to remember the first time that I heard the age-old question about the purpose of life because I’ve heard it so much. However, the first time that I really took time to think about this question was a few weeks ago. I recall waking up in the morning and asking myself a simple question, “What am I looking forward to today?” To my surprise, I couldn’t answer the question and I realized that I was currently living an extremely boring and meaningless life. I then stumbled upon another question, “What is the purpose of my life and what am I going to do in the future?”…
