Often times before you start your first semester of college, you 'll start seeing articles on random social media platforms that tell you all of the things you should NEVER do in college. I am here to tell you those things, but I am also here to tell you that you will most definitely do 85% of those things.

First, you 'll hear the "don 't skip class" speech a million times before you start your first semester. In the beginning, you 'll do well, going to class on time, never skipping, etc... But around midterms, if not before, you will slip at least one time. That 's not to say there is not some magical person with the will and strive to attend every boring lecture they signed up for, but we ALL slip up at least once. I am here to say, THIS IS OKAY. Now, don 't mix my words and think I am telling you to never attend class, that 's just stupid because you are paying big bucks for that boring lecture, but don 't feel like you 've ruined your entire future because you overslept, or maybe that 8 am in 15 degree weather just isn 't worth attending this once. Now hold on, I am not saying go hook up with every washboard pair of abs you see, that can lead to many things you do not want at this time in your life, or ever. I am saying you should make a conscious effort to focus on yourself rather than someone else. I thought I knew everything about myself coming to college, but little did I know I had no earthly idea who I would become. Take your first semester to be adventurous and figure out things you like and things you don 't like. Go on a few dates, but don 't get torn up over that one person who didn 't call you back, they aren 't worth it. You have to learn to love yourself before anyone else can truly love

Semester of Learning Experiences People most always say, “ Learn from you mistakes and achievements.” I would definitely conclude that is exactly what I’ve done this first semester of college.
