This learning experience is designed for work with year 8. I chose the concept of pollution and recycling because it fit with the national curriculum for science and also it fit the national curriculum for citizenship of year KS3, it helpdevelop an interest in, and commitment to, participation in volunteering as well as other forms of responsible activity, that they will take with them into adulthood, moreover Students will gain an appreciation and understanding of the value of recycling. The expected level of the audience is mixed abilities.(Department of education Uk, 2013)
The first lesson objective I hope to reach is for the learners to confidently recognize terms and vocabulary that is related to the topic of pollution such a global warming and green gazes. (see slide 10).The second objective I aim to achieve is to help them to gain knowledge to help them value the consequences of not recycling. The third objective I hope to gain is to encourage their critical thinking and engage them to think about the relation between pollution and recycling and how it affect us and how they can solve a problem related to their society.
The cognitive domain related to “Bloom’s Taxonomy of educational objectives suggests that learning needs to start from knowledge followed by comprehension first to allow progressive learning (Petty, 2009).
