I Became Me Short Story

Suddenly I Became Me
It always makes me smile when my parents tell me stories about myself when I was younger. Most of these are from times that I was too young to remember anything. My mom and dad talk about the kind of kid I was and tell a ton of funny stories that make all of us laugh. Thinking about some of my favorite childhood stories has helped me realize that my personality started to develop at a very young age. My stories show that even when I was little, I had a huge interest in girls, I always had lots of energy and happiness that was contagious to everyone around me, and I not only loved and looked up to my parents, but I wanted to be just like them.
One of my favorite stories comes from my first year pre-school and I actually

One late night my dad had to use the restroom, so he did his business off of the side of the boat. I looked at him with a confused look and asked, “Are you… peeing in the fish?” He looks back at me trying to comprehend what I had just said then answers “Yes, I guess I am peeing in the fish.” Satisfied with his answer, I smiled and nodded, and then we go back to fishing. The next morning I’m sitting on the tailgate of my dad’s Chevrolet truck as always when my dad filets the fish. I watch and ask questions about everything he’s doing like most curious boys do until he is all finished. When done, he cleans all of his fresh filets and puts them in a bowl with water. He runs inside to grab a drink and a few storage bags, but when he comes out, he is shocked at what is there before him. I am standing over the bowl of clean fish filets and doing my business right into the bowl. He looks at me like I’ve absolutely lost my mind and asks me what on earth I am doing. I look back at him and with a big, proud smile on my face I say “I’m peeing in the fish!”
As I think about my early childhood stories my parents tell me, I realize that each little thing I did then contributes to the personality I have today. My views and who I am can even be seen in some of my earliest years of life, which think is very neat. If I were to go back in time and watch myself at a young age, I’m sure I would see most of the person I am now. I could even look at certain incidents through the years and see the times where suddenly I became

There are many stories told in my family. Anyone and everyone told them, some nights it would be my mom and other nights it would be my grandpa. There would always be two stories read; the first one would be from a book called “My Book of Bible Stories”. This book has so many pictures asks questions has descriptive words and is still one of my favorite books. After that story whoever was telling the story would make up a silly story usually about a blue or green man with a giraffe that went traveling and exploring (I have no clue why).…

During our life’s journey, our experiences and relationships we have with others are often the most memorable when we are able to see things in a new way. However, such memories and relationships we have with others stick with us so strongly that we will forever see certain people and events the same way, with an unchanged perspective. Monumental moments, such as a loved one’s death in “Violets,” by Gwen Harwood does not alter the persona’s view of their parents. In contrast, the persona in “Violets” is able to reflect on the memories of herself as a child and her relationship with her parents in another light. At some point in our personal journey, our childlike innocence is often shaken and we are forced to mature into adulthood.…
