I can however, do what I can to bring attention to the issue. I personally feel as though this issue is ignored far too much by Americans, as well as other first world countries. No human, regardless of socioeconomic status, should ever be subject to human trafficking. It is absolutely disgusting that one human being could do these types of things to another, only for monetary gain. I see two explanations, one being that they don’t see these slaves as humans, and the other being that these slave-traders are blinded by greed. Both are equally troubling, and the answer is probably a mix of both. What is more troubling, is the question of how to eliminate human trafficking. Organizations like UNICEF and Free the Slaves among many others do what they can, and donate what resources they can, but the world is simply too vast to police every part of it. Also, there will always be the scum of humanity looking to make a profit off of human trafficking. It is a hard problem to solve, but one that it is our moral duty as human beings to try to solve. These heinous acts are obviously morally impermissible, and therefore need to be stopped.
