My brother and I were reluctant to go because we knew that there would most likely be no one around our age there. We eventually arrived at the house that was full of welcoming friends, and a welcoming dog named Pooka with a very fast moving tail, and with the sweet and comforting scents of delicious food, especially pies, spreading throughout each and every room. There was loud chatter in every room of the house. In the living room, the television was playing some football game, and of course, most of the men in the house were surrounding the television fist bumping, cheering and shouting. I was immediately kept in the Neonatal ICU room, which is generally meant for the sick babies who are born, because my birth parents did not want to see me. The next day, I was discharged to my adoptive parents instead of my birth parents. Later that Saturday, when I was only a day old, my parents took me to a very fancy christmas party that was thrown by the CEO of the hospital I was born in. My parents kept me in the back room underneath the big Christmas tree where I slept during the whole party as other party goers came to see me. According to my parents, everyone during the party asked about the little baby sleeping underneath the tree when no one had ever seen my mother
