The Importance Of Bread Of Life

Last week, we have seen and heard about people who were seeking bread that will perish and Jesus declares himself as a “bread of life.” And in our first scripture that we have read today is how Jesus described himself, “I am the bread of life. Whoever comes to me will never be hungry, and whoever believes in me will never be thirsty.” This words is what we believe, Amen? But did you recognized that this promise is double edged? The bread of life is only for the one “who comes to me” and “believes in me.”

Here are the Jews, who were always bragged, and still are, as the chosen people of God to be in paradise after life on earth. The bible says, they complained to Jesus about his proclamation. The reason that they complained was, they have

Evem tough my parents made decisions with prayers, they had to hear bad things from families and friends. However, my parents kept pray while I was on new journey in US and now I am happily serving our churches. ☺

And Jesus says, those ones who get close to Jesus is the one who are heard and learned from the Father. (v.45) Do you know how many christians are only focusing to be attending church? Just show up church and see the pastor’s face like a clock in their work place time card. To find that God is drawing us near to God, he/she must learn something from God. That happens when he/she actually spend time to read scripture and share with other brothers and sisters in faith.

Last thing that makes people to be “Christian” is, as we have talked last week, eating bread of lif. Why are you here today? I hope many of you answer me like “because I want to know more about Christ and receive the bread of life.” I have met many different christians, from babies to the ones who lives in their very last minutes. Among them, I could see the differences between those christians who are eating the bread of life and who are eating bread that will perish. The difference is shown from their words and
