In this semester, I am taking the communication class. When we took the first in person class, we set up some goals. These goals were our motivations that promoted us to enhance the communicational ability, and these goals would be achieved or could not be finished. There was no doubt that achieving these goals was a complex process, because completing these goals means overcoming our shortcomings. Before I wrote my communication goals, I was entirely curious about if I would be able to change my communicational weaknesses. However, I realized that when I made sufficient effort to pursuing these goals, and what I obtained from the process were not only the happiness but I also know how to face intractable problems. This chapter laid emphasized on verbal and nonverbal communication in the global workplace. As an international student, I was eager to obtain these beneficial information, and this chapter taught me a lot. The first reason was that I entirely agree that the voice played an important role in the verbal communication in the global workplace. I realized that if I want to gain attentions from audiences, what I would do is increasing the voice when I want to express some important information. In addition, I also learned that utilizing distinguished volume was an efficient method, because soft or tough voice can adjust the atmosphere when audiences do not pay attention to listening. Moreover, I noticed that the workplace also played a vital role in the daily work. For instance, we should keep a professional attitude when we work in the work place, so it is compulsory for us to put personal items as little as possible, such as family photograph. Moreover, the chapter also mentioned that a proper cloth also assisted people have a good first impression, because people can know your work attitude from the …show more content…
In my perspective, I believe that keep an optimistic attitude about goals is an optimal action, because communication is based on plenty of practices. When people are engaged in many communications activities, they are able to know how to describe a thing correctly or how to express feeling. An optimistic attitude is helping me solve problems, and make me become confident. As an international student, I consider that having a good communication ability is based on the attitude.
