I am providing the following examples of work or life experience to demonstrate this outcome. These examples are as follows:
1. As a certified fitness instructor to the older adult population, I had to adjust my teaching style. My routines included simpler routines, lower impact steps, and the music was lively yet with a slower tempo in order for my students to keep up and still get a in a good workout. I had to constantly monitor their abilities to keep up and not become frustrated if the routine changed in direction too quickly.
2. As an autism mentor in the special education classroom, my focus had to shift. The students were older than I had assisted previously, and there were vast differences in learning styles and abilities. Some were …show more content…

1. My online training for employees through Kanawha County Schools has taught me much about the education environment of today. The concerns and challenges the students and teachers face each day. By learning how to navigate the website and online training portal, I learn more, and different, technology and advances in the improved email systems for communication with teachers and students.
2. I was given an iPad and had to teach myself how to navigate through the various apps and the new way of interacting with this different touch technology. Since the students now use them in the classroom, I find this experience useful when discussing assignments with my son, who in now in middle school.
3. Having much experience and ability within the natural sciences, I have created and presented a PowerPoint presentation about the Chaparral environment. This was my specialty while in landscape, and I enjoy teaching others whenever I am presented with an opportunity to educate on the natural environment, through the use of …show more content…
By being sensitive to the needs of others and the environment we are in, I am able to support and contribute in a team and classroom environment. As a professional I am constantly learning and checking with myself for further growth in order to improve my communication with students, teachers, and my own children while at home. I take every experience, good, bad or otherwise, as an opportunity for self-awareness and personal growth to support in my role as a leader in the work and classroom environment and the greater good of the community. Education Department Program Learning Outcome V - Demonstrate knowledge and skills in creating learning communities by promoting communication within the school and its community and by developing classroom management frameworks that value diverse abilities and talents of all its members and facilitate respect for all students.
