Ott tries to get enough attention to each student, but that doesn’t always happen because of something going on in the classroom. If a student is acting up or not following the rules, then he/she might get more attention than some of the others during that time. Depending on the day and time depends on how much attention is adult initiated and child-initiated, quite a bit of the attention is given by the Mrs. Ott. She calls on students to answer the problems or questions. Other times are child-initiated because they are trying to get the teachers attention for either tattling on someone, they need an answer to something, or they are wanting to go somewhere. From what I seen, it is mostly because someone is bothering them or they need to go to the bathroom or get a drink. Another thing that I have seen is the students who can’t sit still for very long get bored, so they start misbehaving and not listening. For example, a student who is gets done with their assignment early and Mrs. Ott tells them to read a book. Well the book does not keep them still for long, so they think they can get up and start doing something that they are not supposed to …show more content…
With them learning more words each day they are in school, they are learning to use more pronouns, plurals, and subject/verb agreements correctly. They use pronouns and plurals pretty good, but there are a few of times that I have noticed that they used them incorrectly. Correctly, what they are working on is their subject/verb agreements. They don’t always use the subject/verb that they are supposed to. When they are trying to write something that Mrs. Ott asked them to write, that is when they have a little trouble with them. But the more they learn about that, the better they will get a the subject/verb
