I love being a tool for others; I enjoy being a trustful resource and that is why I am an English language teacher. Probably my teaching style may vary from other teachers, but I know that each personality is there for some reason. Moreover, any style it is, I am assure teaching is done passionately. My short experience in teaching has been a spontaneous adventure. It has portrayed me that teaching is delightful. When I teach, there are three aspects of the MAKER Model that I concentrate more on. The white board is facing students and a little brown table right at the corner that works as my desk. Sometimes, the noise is as high as the world cup of a soccer game and others as silence as an empty room that I can even here my own echo. However, this does not desist us to work. I also enjoy students own self-discover of the language. It makes me feel that they thought so deeply that they made a touchdown. Moreover, this gives me the sign that they feel comfortable in their classroom. It shows that their affective filter might not be present. In my point of view, the teachers and students’ emotions should be confident and transparent. Then, there are not much barriers from either side. In conclusion, I have a pleasant time teaching. One time I asked myself what I would do if money was not a problem. I replied to myself, I would still be a teacher. After last week’s writing, I found myself in quite a fog of insecurity. Thankfully the most recent installment of YITE brought me back to the sunny side of teaching philosophy. Reading about the art of teaching was rather inspiring even. The quote from the text, “approaching instruction in a variety of ways to provide multiple paths for students to both learn the content and develop the skills of the curriculum is artistry (pg 147),” caught my attention. Often in my life I have gotten the impression that some people consider the position of a teacher as that of merely a figurehead, an adult to put in front of a group of kids to keep them occupied.…

Fortunately, I have past experiences teaching English and learning it myself as an ELL (English language learner) student. I have taught English in local schools in Cambodia, to children who could not afford education and worked with several NGOs (non-governmental organizations) in the process. While working with those children, I developed not only teaching skills, but my passion too becoming a teacher. My work led me to pursuit my career in education, so I can provide it to those who are as passionate and eager about it as I am. Since I have always done volunteer work, it was only routinely for me to contact organizations and work with them.…
