I Am Malala's Struggle For Freedom

Close your eyes. You are on the bus enjoying a ride home from school. And then you were shot in the head because you were being educated. Now imagine you are at home with a guest. You feed him ,and entertain him. Then he kills your family ,and forces you to do his work. This was life for some people. People like Malala from I Am Malala, who struggled for the right of education, and Amari from Copper Sun, who struggled from being a slave. Yes they struggled for, what seems to be, different things. They both wanted one thing. What is that one thing? Freedom. They both struggled for freedom.

She is a happy sister, daughter and future wife. She was born and raised in africa. But the real struggle is when the white people come. Her people were slaughtered. Her own family killed. There she was literly stripted of her rights, culture, and her freedom. The whites chained them and brung them to America without a choice. On the voyage to America she was striped of any pride, or self-worth. There she was raped. Not because of affection towards her but a sign of power. The rape did not stop there. Her so-called “master” forced her to do unimaginable things. He did this for self pleasure. This was a big struggle for her. To sit there and simply submit to whatever a person wants is horrific. In Africa getting named is momentis and people honor their name. But when her owner gives her new name, it is very disrespectful. To be named myna just to show that she is not her own anymore but some one else's is below any respect. She risked so much to get her freedom back.

These two women have been through so much. They have seen and experienced things we can’t imagine. They have been put down. They have been frowned upon. But most importantly they have been denied something. Freedom. Freedom that is rightfully theirs. Yes they were from different periods of time, and been in different places ,but they never give up. They provide motivation and a statement that anyone, anything can be just as good as
