On the other side of the world, in a beautiful valley, the Pakistan district of Swat is swarming with terrorists. Islamic people who disobey the harsh laws set by the officers patrolling the Pakistan area, the Taliban, are exposed to public humiliation, and in many cases, death. Children attend school with fear, not knowing whether they will arrive home alive each day. Girls are banned from receiving an education, for the Taliban considered females that can read or write to be a crime against their religion. Only a few people in the world have the nerve to stand up for their own personal rights. A young woman by the name of Malala Yousafzai is one of these very courageous people.

Malala Yousafzai has her Call to Adventure. In the book “I am Malala” by Malala Yousafzai, once Malala was old enough, she started attending a school that her father founded. For one thing,When Malala heard on the news that the Taliban were bombing girls schools, because it was a crime for girls to go to school, she knew she had to do something to save hers and her friends education. With some guidance from her father, Malala started giving speeches to stand up against the Taliban officers. Her first speech was in Peshawar, Pakistan in 2008. …show more content…
To clarify,, Malala started giving many speeches on why girls should have the right to pursue an education. In the year 2009 Malala started an anonymous diary on BBC news’ website about how hard and scary it is to live in Pakistan as a girl. She was soon discovered to be the “anonymous” writer. Soon after, the Taliban officers found out about Malala and issued a death threat against her, at the age of 14! But the death threat did not stop Malala from standing up for what she believed
