I went to the Meet the Majors Fair and spoke with someone at almost all the tables. Probably the only ones I actively avoided were some of the harder science ones like Chemistry or Biology. I also did not go to the Health Science tables. This event made me very excited about the PPE Major. I went to the “What’s in a Major” events for Computer Science, Physics, and PPE. I did not go to Engineering because it was not yet on my radar. The Computer Science advisor was very nice and made me very excited about Computer Science. She especially liked pointing out the combined majors and the possibility of putting different things together. That interested me quite a bit, but unfortunately, when looking at the Degree Audit, it was determined to be impossible for me to finish a combined Computer Science major no matter what the other degree was in. I was also very excited by the student at the Physics event. I attened a Physics tutoring session with him because he was very nice at the event. The PPE event made me almost certain that I wanted to that because it combines so many different subjects and is very malleable to specific interested. These events, while very helpful and informative, also made it harder to pick something because they made everything seem more …show more content…
First, I would like to join clubs which relate to some of my possible interests and get involved with them. I have many current friends who are engineers and who are part of various clubs related to engineering. If I can become a part of different clubs, even if I do not end up majoring or minoring in a related field, I will have experience with something in those areas. This will not only add to my resume, but will let me try my hand at engineering in general. Second, I will seek out opportunities beyond Northeastern for enhancing my understanding of many of the things which I aim to eventually learn. Using websites like Kahn Academy and CrashCourse, I can expand my horizons to include the various things I want to know, even if I do not get any official credit for those achievements. I hope to spend some time over break on Code Academy learning to
