I am human. I crash. I fall. I break down. I'm no robot. I'm no superhero. I am human. The song Human was written by Christina Perri. This song is about falling down, but then getting back up. It is about the fact that no one is perfect and we are all just “human”. Even though we all strive to be perfect, we can't. Everyone has their flaws and everyone has their perks. We all try to be like the “cool kids”. We all try to fit in by changing how we act and how we look. This 8th grade year I realized that I don't need to change for other people's approval. The only approval I need is mine. 8th grade is a hard year, full of hard test, challenging people and challenging friends. 8th grade is a stressful year. It's the point in time where you realize who your real friends are and who your fake friends are. This year I have lost friends, made friends, but as the years go on people change. You spread your wings and meet new people. This song is about having self confidence. This song is about having flaws and getting knocked down a couple times. This relates to my friends because some people just “break down”. People change and as the years go on we all make new friends, but the people that are there for you will hold you up when you're getting knocked down. Being human isn't just a thing. It is a gift to be human, and as we get older we …show more content…
You can fail in life but you never fail life. Failing in life is like failing a test or falling on your face when you try to do a flip. You fail daily but as you fail you learn, and then the next time you do it you change it up a little bit until you succeed. Just like Thomas Edison who kept trying to make the first lightbulb that took a year to get his first one to actually

Upon referencing failure, Keith Peters feels it can be a motivator to succeed. When detailing his own experience with failure in his video: Our Schools Should Teach Kids to Fail, Peters revealed that he had breezed through high school, earning high marks with little effort. Upon attending university however, assignment after assignment was met with failing grades. Because the author did not learn to experience or be inspired by failure, he threw in the towel and quit. Only after experiencing his own failure did he recognize the benefit that failure could bring.…

The trombones open up with vigor and power, the piano and bass discreetly accompanies them while the beat of the drums, conga and Guiro in the background makes everything flow to give rhythm and soul to this piece of Latin music I know as Salsa. As the intro makes its conclusion the trombones and drums act simultaneously as a heartbeat skipping a beat, giving the effect of a slight pause right before Hector Laveo “El Cantante” sings his first words. Hector with his high, pure and distinguished voice says “Todo Tiene Su final” which translates to “Everything has its End”. I pause the song, “everything has its end” stays in my mind as the beat of percussion echoes in my head. In what context does he say this?…

One of the most puzzling questions is “what does it mean to be human?” The definition of human is “ A member of the primate genus Homo, especially a member of the species Homo sapiens, distinguished from other apes by a large brain and the capacity for speech”("human"). The definition should also include “thoughts, intelligentes, are self-aware and have emotions”, because humans are complex and unique animals. All though Humans are very similar to chimps, “sharing 98 percent of our genes and many behaviors”, humans stand out due to their level of complex thoughts (Hsu). Some animals share characteristics with humans, such as social groups and communication, but humans take things to an unmatched level.…

Everyone has a different perspective and interpretation about failure. Some people see failure as an unpleasant thing or a limitation of their capabilities, while others see failure as a learning opportunity or a guide on how to become better. For example, in the article, “Want to Get Into College? Learn to Fail,” the author, Angel B. Perez, implies that failure should not be feared because it is not as harmful as most people think it is. He points out that failure is necessary if we want to succeed in college and in life.…

“A handful of moments I wished I could change, but I was carried away,” are the lyrics that remind a lot about myself. Growing up, and even about two years ago, I was insanely shy and did not talk much around people, friends, or family. The way I talked to people was in a timid, soft spoken way, which looking back, was awfully embarrassing. My friends and family would laugh at me because I could not talk well, and when I did talk, they acted as if I were a baby who just said its first words. With all of that nonsense going on, their idiotic response kind of made me not want to say anything anymore.…

In the movie I, Robot we are introduced to a long debated philosophical question: “What makes a human being human?”. Is the essence of mankind the fact that we are biologically unique among the myriad of different species on this planet? Is it the fact that we seem to have transcended our baser needs in order to try and make the world fit us as opposed to us fitting into the world around us? Is it perhaps that we have what people would call a “soul”? Or is it possibly that we were said to have either evolved from our animal counterparts, the primates, in order to be what we consider better?…

In our life time we adopt many different identities which we share with some groups but not with others dependent on whether we see ourselves as the same as a particular group or different. An important aspect of identity formation for children, involves them drawing distinctions between themselves and others. Psychologists are increasingly interested in the self-descriptions that children give at different ages. Harter 1983 reviewed interviews of children’s self-descriptions at different ages and found a developmental sequence. She found that young children gave self-descriptions in terms of their observable characteristics such as their physical appearance and through activities which they preferred, as the children became older they tended to describe their character, and eventually children tended to give self-descriptions in terms of their relationships to others and interpersonal traits.…
