From the time the movie starts to the movie end changes are happening. For instance at the beginning of the movie when David sneaks out of the concentration camp after hopping out over the metal electric fence David starts running as fast as he could. However in the book David walks hoping that the guard would shoot him. Some may wonder why he would do that but david had his reasons. See most of the time ‘they’ or the guards would let you run till you almost get to safety so you think they you were free. By walking david wasn’t giving them the satisfaction. The next change was in the boat taking david to Italy this wasn’t a huge change but still not in the book. When an italian man discovers David hitching a ride in his boat David tells him not to turn him in. David argues with the man until he takes his side. the first thing I felt cheated on was how fast the movie went. The movie never slowed down and went into detail on the story and the length of the story didn’t help. The movie was way too short it was roughly an hour and thirty minutes. With all the things cut out and changed along with the ending being so bad it was a terrible movie compared to the book.
