All my expectation had been dashed in to what seemed a million pieces and I was left feeling absolutely hopeless! With my mother by my side compassionately consoling me yet at the same time exhorting me, she encouraged me to "Move forward with JOYFUL EXPECTATION"! I wiped the tears that were beginning to form from my eyes and gave a smile as I nodded knowing she was right but what exactly was joyful expectation and how could I ever really achieve it? Later on that afternoon I kneeled before the Lord, asking Him to reveal to me this joyful expectation and show me how to move forward …show more content…
Is your expectation in the Lord? Have you put your hope and are you waiting for Christ alone with joy? In Colossians 3:1-2 we are commanded to set our affection on things above and not on things on the earth, "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth." In Matthew 6 verses 20-21 we are also instructed to lay up for ourselves "treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." For those who have been redeemed by the shed blood of Jesus Christ, we have been promised an eternal heavenly inheritance (Eph 4:4) and commanded to hope in the everlasting Source of hope(Ps 43:5). We are given a Hope that is both sure and steadfast and an anchor for the soul (Heb 6:19). This is the Hope that will not leave us restless or disappointed, the Hope that is unchanging and unwavering with time (James 1:17), the Hope that offers complete confidence (2 Cor 3:4) and perfect satisfaction (Ps 107:9). This is the Hope that will meet all of our expectations! In Proverbs 10:28 we are promised gladness through this Hope, "The hope of the righteous shall be gladness; but the expectation of the wicked shall perish". It is the Hope that came in the form of a servant (phil

Give examples of how the practice of ministry has affected your experience and understanding of A) God At the core of my understanding of God is a God of love in covenantal relationship with God’s children. Romans 8:38-39 says it well; “For I am convinced that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor rulers, nor things present, nor things to come, nor powers, nor height, nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord.” The practice of ministry has only proven to strengthen that belief. I was called early Saturday morning to sit with a family who had just learned of the death of their daughter/granddaughter in a vehicle accident.…

Faith, Imitation, and Imagination Faith, what people personally believe, exists independently of whether or not people share with others. It can be confidence in something that is not seen, such as a promise and an engagement; it can be a belief that has not been proven, for example, a religious belief shared by a group of people who work together to provide support for going deeper into their similar faith. Susan Blackmore, the author of “Strange Creatures”, asserts that it is the ability to imitate…

I said to someone once, "if I could have a free pass I think I would go back and change a few things". They looked at me and said "Like what?" And ever since then it's been going through my mind all the things I "thought" I would do different. Hopes and expectations, the two things that influence our personality, our choices, and ultimately our lives. However the meanings and purpose of these two words are commonly mixed to the point where what a person hopes for and what they expect become the same. Hopes are more optimistic in terms of what a person wants, whereas expectations become what’s required of a certain person, thing, or place. Yet these hopes and expectations can be easily shattered by the realities and flaws that follow them. It’s similar to the saying “Never meet your favorite hero.”…
