In Colossians 3:1-2 we are commanded to set our affection on things above and not on things on the earth, "If ye then be risen with Christ, seek those things which are above, where Christ sitteth on the right hand of God. Set your affection on things above, not on things on the earth." In Matthew 6 verses 20-21 we are also instructed to lay up for ourselves "treasures in heaven, where neither moth nor rust doth corrupt, and where thieves do not break through nor steal: For where your treasure is, there will your heart be also." For those who have been redeemed by the shed blood of Jesus Christ, we have been promised an eternal heavenly inheritance (Eph 4:4) and commanded to hope in the everlasting Source of hope(Ps 43:5). We are given a Hope that is both sure and steadfast and an anchor for the soul (Heb 6:19). This is the Hope that will not leave us restless or disappointed, the Hope that is unchanging and unwavering with time (James 1:17), the Hope that offers complete confidence (2 Cor 3:4) and perfect satisfaction (Ps 107:9). This is the Hope that will meet all of our expectations!
