My grades this past year were and are not indicative of who I am as a student, or as a person in general. My junior year of high school, I decided to do PSEO, thinking it was an easy way to get credits for both high school and college. I did not realize the struggle I was going to have just trying to be accountable for myself during my senior year. My daily schedule consisted of work, soccer, managing the high school boy’s hockey team, volunteer work, spending time with my high school friends and taking college courses. I took the most challenging classes through Anoka-Ramsey Community College, thinking that like high school these would be the best for me. I also apologize to you and the University for having to take your valuable time to address my poor decisions. I promise that I have learned from my mistakes. I will do anything the University requires of me to prove myself worthy to attend this prestigious University. I will use every resource available to me including tutoring, office hours for professor, writing lab, and also the library to make sure I stay on the right track. I have always believed in second chances and I would like the opportunity to show everyone that I have changed and have learned from my recent schooling efforts to bounce back and show a new and improved student who has the determination to learn and work hard. Given a second opportunity will help me to realize how lucky I am and take nothing for granted.
I am so excited to restart my academic journey at the University of Minnesota. It has been a dream of mine since I was young to become a gopher. Being able to be a part of the tight knit community at the University is something I really look forward too. If I were to be revoked of this great opportunity it would break my heart and my dreams but I would understand that this was all my fault and nobody else’s. Thank you for giving me this opportunity.
