I lean towards a democratic leadership style overall but have a very close high score in authoritarian leadership style. I think this could be closely related to my conflict handling style, which is competing and second is collaborating. These two behaviors working together in any situation will bring out my more democratic side or my more authoritarian. Perhaps, if I am trying to to get something for myself I would be much more competitive and authoritarian. But, if I am trying to solve conflict within the group I would democratic and collaborative. Seeing that my defaults are democratic and competing, I would have to think those work together to help me as a leader. The democratic part allows me and my peers can work together and get feel that we all had a say in what was being done, and feel pride and responsibility for the finished product or reaching the goal. The democratic style does make for a more cohesive group, which is important. My competing conflict style would complement this style, in that if some people in the group were trying to pressure others in one direction I am more than willing to standup for the direction I feel the group needs to go, or even advocate for others in the group that would be more avoidant. With these two styles working together, I feel that in a leadership role I would be hearing my peers out and pushing for the best end goal at the same time, using logic and reason to convince others but still hearing their opinions and logic. However, if I become too competitive I would most likely begin to lean towards my authoritarian side and begin to force the direction I want to go onto everyone else in the group and that could lead to loss of cohesiveness and loss of peers willingness to
