Importance Of Passions In My Life

I am an ordinary person but I am also an individual who has followed his passions inlife and although it may not make me unique, it has usually made me stand out from the crowd. From birth till now, all that I have experienced has made me what I am today. My father was a biomedical engineer who worked in a big tertiary care hospital of Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and living on campus in close proximity of doctors had ignited my curiosity about medical profession even before I was old enough to visit my father 's actual workplace. As I got older, I saw doctors working tirelessly not only in saving patients ' lives but also working in the same manner to improve the living conditions of terminal and chronic patients by vast margins. I always have had a large social circle even though I spent my time divided in three countries over the years. Because it doesn 't matter whether you are in South Asia , MiddleEast or North America, the rules of friendship stay the same and they have always come easy to me. I played basketball, cricket and soccer throughout school and college. It not only gave me a healthy outlook to life but also a great lesson in letting go of my inhibitions and giving my all to be a winner. As I became captain of the teams, I learned leadership and how people look up to you when they are in doubt. Another passion of mine is singing and beat boxing. This especially helps me relieve stress during exams andkeeps me motivated. Also, I find it easier to memorize stuff by making up songs about anything that I find hard to retain. My interest in research started developing during student life when I took part in twocommunity based research projects in medical school. Having a scientific mind, I constantly seek new information. After doing my elective rotations in the United States, I was convinced more then ever that the knowledge we gain in our medical school is just the beginning of a long and fruitful journey of gaining
