I am already taking SOC 100: Introduction to Sociology, so if I do decide to commit to sociology as my major, I will already have three credits attributed to it. The next three courses I must take are Theory I: Foundation of Sociological Research, Introduction to Social Research, and Introduction to Statistics. A choice has to be made in the next level of courses between Race, Ethnicity, Class and Gender, and Social Problems. I believe that I will be choosing the course regarding social problems because rather than simply learning about the flaws in our society, I want to do something about it and come up with possible solutions in an attempt to solve these inequalities. There are three 300 level classes, Contemporary Sociological Theory, Survey Methodology, and Qualitative Research Methods. It is a world renowned company, known by many that plays its workers very well and has substantial benefits. The goal of the company coincides with mine, so I believe that it will be a very good fit. Unfortunately, it’s easier said than done, because Google is a very competitive workplace, but it’s better trying than not doing it at all because you just never know. In regards to building bridges with other people, I have taken it upon myself to be acknowledged by my professors. For example, my philosophy teacher, Dr. Lambey, is the president of the philosophy club, and he has taken notice.
