Features of a good learning environment are working in small teacher-to-student ratio settings, having activities that are hands-on & that appeal to different learning styles, and an environment where children can ask questions and be themselves. I think children are more successful in smaller group settings. Smaller groups permit each child to have one-on-one attention with the teacher. The learning environment should have diversity within the activities because every child learns differently. For example, one child may learn their alphabets better by using an auditory or musical learning style, while another child may learn through the visual learning style. It is important to accommodate every child.An environment where the child is comfortable enough to be themselves is essential. Qualities I think are important for teaching are patience, knowledge of the subject, discipline, creativity, and being well-organized. There are many qualities that a teacher should have, but these are my top five. Each child is different. They differ in attitudes, learning styles, advantages, and home-life situations.
