Career Goals For Social Work

I am currently an Advanced Standing student who is attending school right after graduating with my bachelors from Monmouth University. I was in elementary school when I first realized I wanted to be a social worker. My mother is a social worker and she is a great role model for me. In fourth grade I became a peer mediator where I would help settle disagreements between classmates. Additionally, I have always loved to help others. When I was growing up I had an aunt who was and still is addicted to drugs. She has struggled with this drug issue for many years and growing up seeing her struggles encouraged me to help others with this issue. Also, many members in my family struggle with anxiety and depression, so I was able to learn about these …show more content…
I will hopefully accomplish this through my career goals. My career goals are to start a private practice, eventually work up to opening my own wellness center, and give back to the community through donations and other services. I plan on starting off small and getting a job at an agency first, but I hope my goals become accomplished. In order to accomplish this goal I need to continue with my education, learn about starting a business, and finding a particular population to serve in the community. I plan on learning advanced clinical practice in social work by attending conferences to earn my CEU’s and learn from supervision. I need to first graduate with my masters, take my licenser exam, and collect my clinical …show more content…
From a young age she has always wanted to help others and has accomplished so much since then. Stephanie graduated from Monmouth University in 2017 with her masters and since then she hit the ground running. She first started working a non-profit organization where she helped a variety of clients and created a positive environment. After a few years, she opened a private practice where she met with individuals, couples, and families. She eventually started creating groups for her community. The groups were Alcoholics Anonymous, Narcotics Anonymous, Eating disorders, and Individuals Dealing with Grief. From then, she started building her practice to allow more services for individuals such as yoga, art therapy, and kick boxing. Eventually, Stephanie was able to give back to her community through donations, programs, and more.
