I Believe In Role Models I believe that everyone should have a role model to look up to. I was watching my brother play varsity high school football against their rival, Garner-Hayfield. Since it was his senior year, it was my brother’s last time facing Garner, so I knew it was going to be a heck of a game. The stands were completely full, and the fences surrounding the field were packed. I’ve never seen anything like it before; the whole town was at the game. The teams were warming up to play a physical game. The fans, eager for the game to start, knew that this was our game to win. It was our year. I was sitting in the stands nervously as the game was about to start. They had the captains go to the middle of the field. Out of the three captains, my brother was one of them. I told myself one day I wanted to be like my brother; I wanted people to look up to me, respect me, and follow me. Once the captains did the coin toss, the game was under way. From the beginning, the game was physical. Each team battled for the victory; neither team took a play off because if they did, it might cost them the game. Both teams went back and forth with possession of the ball. Finally, it was fourth quarter with less than two minutes to go. Garner had possession of the ball. It’s to watch that person to set personal goals for yourself to be better than them. My brother would lift, run, and work hard to achieve his goals. I knew it was my time to start training hard in order for people to notice me. When my junior year had ended, I knew I had to work hard in the off season in order to help the team achieve our goals for football. Summer had started and I would not only be working in the mornings from six a.m. to four p.m. but I would also be lifting and running in the afternoons. Giving one hundred percent every day, I knew my hard work would soon pay
