Even though my faith prior to seeing war first hand was moderate and conservative at best in my practices, it has evidently subsided following 2004. Previously, I would have thanked all my
“blessing’s” to God and believed that he had a higher purpose for me in life. Even though I am pseudo successful in my career at such a young age compared to my co-workers and colleagues,
I have concluded that it was not predetermined by a higher power, but by the hard work, dedication and values I set forth for myself. Subsequently, my individual rituals, doctrines, philosophies, narratives, experiential, ethical, social and material beliefs from each of my own life experiences will be conferred from either my personal day to day interactions and or my professional workings. As briefly described in the above essay, the ethical, legal and emotional concepts I tend to adhere in my professional life, are not perfect by any means as they have had their negative connotations, especially when dealing with politically charged topics and advancements in technologies with senior leaders who have “agendas.” A quote from Master Gichin Funakoshi “Students of any art, including Karate-do must never forget the cultivation of the mind and the body” (Morgan 1992) With this said, regards to religion, I feel that the cultivation of the mind, too, can be a dimension of
