“If a patient is cold, if a patient is feverish, if a patient is faint, if he is sick after taking food, if he has a bed sore, it is generally the fault not of the disease, but of the nursing.” Florence Nightingale. I’m a firm believer that we give medication to satisfy patients. I believe throughout the past many people become very unsatisfied with the care they were receiving and unhappy if they did receive the medication they believed they needed, because of this I believe doctors prescribe medication to make the patient happy. As a soon to be nurse I would love see other actions taken before we inject medication if not necessary. I do believe that there are many cases the patient needs medication for such things like severe pain, but I don’t believe we, as nurses, are doing things to lessen that. I decided to choose nursing as my career because I want to help people. I care about other people so much that I would physically and mentally exhaust myself to make sure they get the best care they …show more content…
Nursing requires skill from mathematics, science, communication, theories and technology. The nursing profession requires individuals to sit for boards, maintain accreditation and a certain amount of education yearly. The most interesting thing about working in the nursing profession is you can follow your own interest and beliefs by working with any group of people. For example, if you don’t believe in abortions you can work in an area that has little to do with abortions. Another good thing about the nursing profession is you can go how high in the career ladder you want. Many people choose to stay an Associate Degree nurse their whole career while others choose to receive their bachelors or master. Others may choose to become educators or managers. The option is yours and in this profession it’s not looked down on to stay with an Associate’s
