My Experiences And The Theory Of Inspiration In The Bible

Decent Essays
There has been a lot of experiences and a lot of people in my life that influenced what I believe. I have mentioned in my last paper that I am a member of a Baptist church that sings hymns and preaches the gospel. In this paper, I am going to answer what I grew up believing, if I believe weather the bible is true or not, and what theory of inspiration I believe in. I grew up believing that the Bible is not just another ordinary book that we can just read once and never pick up again, but instead it’s a book we have to live by and apply it to our lives. I grew up having confidence that the Bible is without a doubt true ad that it is one-hundred percent accurate. I always knew that the Bible was the book Christians followed but it wasn’t until …show more content…
I don’t see how someone who believes in the whole bible cover to cover (including the maps) can believe in any other theory of inspiration. The verse above completely disproves the theory of natural inspiration, also the men who wrote the bible were great because God chose to put His spirit on them, other than that they were all ordinary men. As for partial inspiration I believe God doesn’t want to confuse us on whether the word is from Him or someone/something else, God doesn 't keep his word a mystery, it clearly states this in Ephesians 1:9 " He made known to us the mystery of His will, according to His kind intention which He purposed in Him". Also, I don’t think there are any errors in the bible all the dates and information in there are accurate. The dictation theory says the writers couldn’t put any style into the book they wrote but if you read Psalms and then read Songs of Solomon, it is completely different because the personality of David and Solomon were completely different, one was a warrior and the other was the wisest and richest man to ever walk the

Throughout the world there are several different opinions when it comes to the belief of God and the Bible. There are thousands of different religions that people belong to; the most well known being Christian and Catholic. Many writers often use different genres that help to symbolize different realism aspects of stories. For the short story, “Parkers Back” author Flannery O’Connor uses a Christian realism theme to portray the life of a man who battles with the belief of God. In many of Paul's letters, Paul talks about that we are justified by grace through faith. In James' letter, he says faith without works is dead. At a glance, it looks like James is contradicting Paul, but further in and both are going to each other. The Word is inspired by God and is beneficial to us for teaching, correction, reproofing, and for training us in righteousness.…

There are many stories told in my family. Anyone and everyone told them, some nights it would be my mom and other nights it would be my grandpa. There would always be two stories read; the first one would be from a book called “My Book of Bible Stories”. This book has so many pictures asks questions has descriptive words and is still one of my favorite books. After that story whoever was telling the story would make up a silly story usually about a blue or green man with a giraffe that went traveling and exploring (I have no clue why).…

Some Christians and students of the Bible take a contextualist view of inerrancy by asserting that the text was divinely inspired by God, yet the authors added their own personal style and voice by writing in the context of their own experiences. Others subscribe to the literalist view of inerrancy, which asserts that the Bible is flawless and every single word written was given to the authors by God, leaving no room for personal flair. The inerrancy of the Bible lies in its divine message, but because the Bible was written by human authors, there may be small discrepancies in certain aspects such as chronology. One of the most important things to realize is that the Bible contains philosophy, history, and science, but was never meant to be considered a textbook. Those who critique the Bible on its accuracy in these subjects miss the point of the Bible as a whole.…

Now more than ever, the world is more closely connected through the nearly-instantaneous exchange of ideas and information. This exchange of ideas means that collaboration for the advancement of knowledge on a particular subject is possible and facilitates advancements in that field. On the other hand, having access to the abundance of contrasting ideas also means that people have more to think about and more they can argue about. One of said arguments is whether the Bible is really trustworthy. There are too many different beliefs about the Bible to list them all, but some of the main ones are that the Bible is the word of God and true and trustworthy, the Bible is just a book written by man and, therefore, vulnerable to the weaknesses of any human-written work and fallible, or that the Bible is mostly true but has some inaccuracies, thus casting doubt as to whether it is inspired by God.…

Biblical Allusions “Viva La Vida” alludes to a parable given by Jesus about a fool who built his house on sand and a man who built his house on rock. The song says “And I discovered that my castles stand. Upon pillars of salt, pillars of sand” because in the Bible the fool did not listen to Jesus and built his house on sand and it fell when rain came unlike the man’s house built on rock (salt). Pillars of salt is also a reference to Genesis 19:26, in which Lot’s wife was told if she looked back she would be turned into a pillar of salt, which she did and was, as promised, turned into a pillar of salt.…

For many decades, psychology and Christianity have been viewed as two fields that are mutually exclusive. Through the perpetual changes that both have gone through from pre-modernity, modernity, and post-modern thinking, researchers and theologians are working to find an appropriate and functional synthesis to bring the two together. Integration can be very difficult because psychology and Christianity have different worldviews. The goal of psychology is to fully understand the human mind, whereas Scripture teaches that humans cannot fully understand themselves. Psychology as a science has been said to have a dehumanizing effect as it encourages people to be normal and well-adjusted.…
