(As we landed on a platform within the center point of this gigantic cavern) (I wipe me hand across what appears to be a different stone then what was found in the cave) (In unknown language it reads "The Shadow Gem Rest Within This Cave" (I turn around and something was peering at me from behind a rock I flash my light towards it and something shiny nearly blinded me) "Who is there? Come out! Haunter Shadow Ball!" As I teleport to the nearest pokecenter with Sableye over my shoulder I rush inside and give him to nurse joy) "Nurse will Sableye be ok?" How would you answer if somebody asked you, “would you rather have some shiny metal or this dirty piece of paper?” The shiny metal is probably more valuable, and it looks better. Anyway, a good looking object increases its value, right? I was walking down a street in Central Park, with trees on surrounding me and people scurrying around me. A street artist was calling out, “are there any young children out there?”…

he thought as he spotted his hidden cave, one he had made for just this moment. He paused only for a second, thought strangely, he could not here Beelze laughing around him. He took no notice as he dove inside, through a hole just big enough to allow him entrance, yet small enough to cover with a couple rocks. Gasping for breath, he leaned back on the solid rock wall, arms spread out covered in scratches from the run to his haven, until, he heard footsteps echoing that made him freeze. Again?…

The Crevasse “Adversity is the source of our deepest growth and greatest blessings; embrace it, dare to seek It,” that was a quote from Aron Ralston, who fell down a crevasse and his arm was wedged under a rock, which inspired the movie “127 Hours.” One day I was going to the creek with my friends, Matthew and Kendal, to hang out. We had this amazing spot that had a bridge that we made and everything. We were bringing further supplies to add on to the spot and make it look more visually appealing. When we arrived at the park we brought all of the supplies down under a bridge.…

The administrators came to our school to tell us about middle school and not one of my friends or people I knew said that they would get to Shadow Ridge. They all said that they would go to Rocky Top. I had one person say that they were going to Shadow Ridge. They were one of my best friends.…

Enlightening Experiences Plato’s Allegory of the Cave, was written many years ago, and it is still relevant in the classroom today. The validity of the literary piece is not what is in question, but rather the agreement within Plato’s observations. Throughout the piece, Plato describes a situation of prisoners that see shadows on a wall and perceive it to be reality due to a narrow minded perception of the real world. Unfortunately, the prisoners Plato is referring to are humans in the real world, and he is making the claim that humans should not accept the reality in which we live in.…

My six word memoir was “Fought through the labyrinth of solitude” because I wasn’t really alone physically because I had my family but none of them understood me or I couldn’t show them I true self, like who I really am. It wasn’t really easy to do because I felt insecure even though I shouldn’t feel that way. I stayed true to myself and I kept that in mind and it gave me the strength to push through. So mentally I was me but outside I was a totally different person that everybody expected me to be but even though I had some faith that that would end someday.…

At my house there is a trail that leads to a place known as The Flat Rock. It gets that name because it is a long, flat, gray stone that ends at the Uwharrie River. I have been told the stone stretches all the way to central Virginia, and yet it chose the five and a half acres of land I reside on to end. It is cool and mossy, even in the heavy heat of summer. It provides a small refuge against the world and all its burdens.…

The human race has been tied up since childhood in the cave so that they can’t move or see what’s not in front of them.
