This theory focuses on what and how people learn from one another. The aspect of this theory that I can relate to is that people can learn by observing the behaviors of others, as well as observing the outcomes of those behaviors. The idea of learning through models is another I see a lot in everyday life. When observing young children I see one get in trouble for doing something bad, and then the others know not to do that behavior because they too will get into trouble. This broad theory explains how people perceive, interpret, remember, and in other ways think about environmental events. One specific perspective of this theory that I feel strongly about is Gestalt psychology. Gestalt’s basic ideas include: perception is often different form reality, the whole is more than the sum of its parts, an organism structures and organizes experience, the organism is predisposed to organize experience in certain ways, learning follows the law of Pragnanz, and problem solving involves restructuring and insight. All of these ideas sum up Gestalt’s psychological view of learning, and I believe the whole is more than the sum of its parts is the most important. This proves that learning is being completed because for someone to understand a whole, that person must also learn all of the parts; but to have all of the parts together to make the whole then proves that person learned all of that and can now change and apply the whole or parts to other
